Accessibility Statement

Seaside Cottage is not suitable for assisted Wheelchair users due to the amount of steep and winding steps in and around the property.

We are located towards Colwyn Bay just to the east of Rhos-on-Sea on Cayley Promenade. We are the second building on the right after the turn onto Cayley Promenade heading east from Rhos Promenade and Seaside Cottage is located directly behind the main building of Plas Rhos House.

Access to the entrance of Plas Rhos from the main road is by 7 steps and a ramp and there is restricted parking directly in front on Cayley Promenade. Tactile studs are installed around the edges of the front door steps.

Our car park is situated to the rear with only limited on-site parking available and from the car park to the front door of Seaside Cottage there is level access. There is ample free and paid parking on West Promenade and nearby. Disabled Badge holders have limited exceptions to these conditions. Our small Car Park is situated in the back garden and there are 10 steps in total to reach the front of the house from the car park which is accessible through the back garden and around the side of the building.

The front door of Seaside Cottage is 65cm wide which leads into the kitchen. The kitchen, bathroom and the lounge are all on the same level, however the bedroom is accessed by 3 steps up with a grab rail and sensor lights to illuminate the steps at night. The bathroom door is 67cm wide, the lounge door is 74cm wide and the sliding bedroom door is 74cm wide.

The shower is a walk-in style shower 76cm x 1470cm with a grab bar fitted.

Our property occupies a slightly elevated position above Cayley Promenade and slopes towards the sea. The front terrace is decked with hardwood decking and is accessed by 2 steps.

There is a mixture of cobbles, paving slabs and golden gravel throughout the property.

We regret that Pets are not allowed and Smoking/Vaping is strictly prohibited.
